Bridge City, Texas - Joyce Ann Matlock, age 85, of Bridge City, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025. She was born in DeSoto, TX on August 26, 1940, to parents, Charlie Collin Fleeman and Mable Eloise Hamm Fleeman.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home in Palestine, Texas, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. with Dan Manuel officiating. The burial will be at Land of Memory Cemetery.

Joyce was a devoted member of the Crockett Road Church of Christ. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, reading, working crossword puzzles, and piecing together jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed traveling, listening to gospel bluegrass music, and spending time with her family. Her husband, J.B., shared her love of music as a member of the Wise County Bluegrass band.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Collin and Lois Fleeman; her husband, J.B. Mattlock; and her brother, John Fleeman. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: daughters; Tammy and husband Terry Dunahoe; Gaye and husband Mike Tubbs, and Teresa and Greg Olson; brother Randy Fleeman; sisters, Rita Vaughan, and Jan Slampa; grandchildren, Josh, Hannah, Cameron, Katie, and Hunter; and great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Cannon, and Hallie all of whom brought her immense joy.
