Palestine, Texas - Larry Dale Jones, of Palestine, Texas, is now in the presence of our loving Lord and Savior. With his family by his side, he passed away on Thursday, the 23rd day of October 2025, at the age of 69. Mr. Jones was born on the 9th day of July 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas to parents Fred Jones, Jr. and Minnie Louise Fletcher Jones.

Mr. Jones was known for his friendly demeanor and his ability to make others smile. His mischievous personality meant that he was always ready with a joke or a playful prank. He was a hard worker who liked to stay busy, but he never let the demands of life dampen his funny and friendly spirit.

Mr. Jones's work ethic was evident throughout his life. He dedicated many years to working in the oil field and his service in the National Guard reflected his deep sense of patriotism and his commitment to the country he loved. Mr. Jones also found great fulfillment in his involvement with the Tennessee Colony Masonic Lodge, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to the betterment of his community.

His interests painted the picture of a man who cherished the simple pleasures in life. He loved mowing on his tractor, a pastime he enjoyed until just two days before his passing. His passion for the outdoors was evident to anyone who knew him, as was his love for going to yard sales. An avid gun collector, Mr. Jones took great pride in his collection. He was also a member of the United Pentecostal Church, where he enjoyed fellowship with his church family.

In remembering Larry Jones, we recall a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and laughed heartily. He leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Kathy Jones; daughter, Alison Bryant; stepdaughter, Toni Ilene Jones and husband Darrell Hillard; stepsons, Scott Alverson and wife Cynthia and Patrick Alverson and wife Traci; sister, Janice Cooper and husband Randy; brothers, James Jones and wife Tammy, and Tony Jones and wife Jean. He will also be sorely missed by his 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Minnie Jones.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from two o'clock until three o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 28th day of October 2025 in the Molly Ray State Room at Rhone Funeral Home.

Following the visitation, Mr. Jones will be cremated, and the family will host a memorial service at a later date.
