Max D. "Paw-Paw" Coon. ALTO - A private memorial service for Max D. "Paw-Paw" Coon, of Alto and formerly of Jacksonville and Palestine, is pending O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home in Alto.. Mr. Coon passed away Sunday in Tyler.. He was born May 6, 1945 in Winnfield, Louisiana to Jesse William and Fannie Mitchell Coon.. Max was a tool and die maker and worked for Coilco Industries in Jacksonville. He had previously worked at the Glass Plant in Palestine. Mr. Coon was a Christian and was the co-founder of the Cherokee Wind Warrior M/C.. His grandson, Cody Cannon of the band, Whiskey Myers, was given his first guitar by his grandpa.. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, T.J., Gerald and Morlan; and by two nephews, Mark and Stephen Coon.. Mr. Coon is survived by his wife, Jean Sides-Coon of Alto; daughters and sons-in-law and grandchildren: Jamie and Travis Collins of Montalba, Cody Cannon and Cade Collins and Errin and Jeremy Deer of Palestine, Jason and Tyler Neal, Cindy Meredith and fiancé' Charles Gray of Elkhart, and Macey and Chase Meredith; son, Adam Coon of Ocala, Florida; stepdaughter, husband and grandchildren, Amberli and Carl Dowling and Ali and Carl Jr. Dowling of Alto; grandson, Billy Lindsey; stepson, wife and grandchildren, Heath and Jaime Giblin and Gabe and Audrey Giblin of Palestine; brother, Don Coon of Everette, Washington; sisters, Ada Fay Parker - Orange and Joan Flowers of Central; mother-in-law, Claire Sides of Alto; sister-in-law, Ginger Coon of Neches and Jan McGarity of Alto; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tommy and Samantha Sides of Reklaw, Texas and Wayne and Rhonda Sides of Alto; and numerous nieces and nephews.
