Palestine, Texas - Max Weldon Tubb, age 84, of Palestine, Texas, left this world for his home with the Lord on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Mr. Tubb was born on February 7, 1941, to parents Henry Weldon Tubb and Wanda Moffett.
A Christian by faith and an entrepreneur by trade, Mr. Tubb's legacy is one of dedication and a zest for life that touched everyone he met. Born in Oakwood, Texas, he had been a proud resident of Palestine since 1977. Mr. Tubb was a visionary businessman who was the owner of Chips Burger Village, Fargo's Steak House, and Bratz Tire, all of which thrived under his leadership before he sold them. He had a commitment to serve as evidenced by his active involvement in the Lions Club of Palestine. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church, where he served and worshiped until his health began to decline.
Beyond his professional and community service endeavors, Mr. Tubb was a man who cherished the simple pleasures of life. He had a profound love for animals and found great joy in being outdoors, where he could watch the wildlife in its natural habitat. A big family man, Mr. Tubb's greatest pride was his family, including his beloved wife, his son, and his daughter, who were the center of his world.
Mr. Tubb was also known for his extensive knowledge of cars, a passion that he enjoyed sharing with friends and family. His love for travel and camping took him on many adventures, creating memories that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to join him.
Mr. Tubb's presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire those he loved including his devoted wife of 65 years Doris Tubb; daughter, Patty Franks and husband Mike of Elkhart, Texas; son, Dr. Michael Tubb and wife Dr. Brooky Sanders of Plano, Texas; and his sisters, Karla Conners and Terry Molina. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Morgan Tubb, Tiffany Mackinnon, Emily Nader, Eric Franks, Colby Sanders; his great-grandson Luke Nader, with one on the way; and several other family members and friends. Mr. Tubb is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Wanda Tubb, and his brother Reagan Tubb.
