Michael Dave Walters Obituary

Elkhart, Texas - Michael Dave Walters, 72, of Elkhart, passed away on May 5, 2025, in Palestine. He was born on February13, 1953, to the late Dave and Billie (Green)Walters, in Houston.

Mike graduated from Palestine High School in 1971. He enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1972-1976, where he obtained the rank of Sergeant and served in the Vietnam War. He retired from Wal-Mart in 2012, after 30 years of employment. He was also a Master Mason with the Palestine Masonic Lodge No. 31, earning his

50 year pin in 2025.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dave and Lula (Barinnaux) Walters, and Thomas and Madeline (French) Green. He is survived by his lifelong friend, Keneth Marshall; sons Dave and Allen (Patty) Walters; grandsons Ryan, Jacob, Trey and Joshua Walters; five great-grandchildren; sister Debra (Don) Parker; brother Steve Walters, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many close friends. Mike was a caring, generous and kind man, who valued his family and friends more than anything else. He is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday May 9, 2025 at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Wayne Lasiter officiating. Burial will follow in Myrtle Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
