Services for Morris Guthrie, 83, of Palestine, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Midway Baptist Church in LaRue with the Rev. James Johnston and Martha Bing officiating. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston. Interment will be at Midway Cemetery in LaRue.. Mr. Guthrie passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 in Palestine.. He was born Nov. 30, 1930 in Anderson County, Texas.. Buddy was a farmer and a Pentecostal.. He was preceded in death by parents, Bob and Winnie Guthrie; brothers, Sam Guthrie, Bill Guthrie, Luther Guthrie, Wayne Guthrie, and twin brother, Norris Guthrie.. He is survived by his sisters, Ethel Berryhill of Palestine, Ina Meryl Reynolds of Breckinridge, Ann Apple of Marshall; brother, the Rev. Robert Guthrie of Palestine; and numerous nieces and nephews.. Pallbearers will be Paul Essary, Ronnie Berryhill, Billy Berryhill, Steve Williams, E.W. "Bubba" Abbott, and Ricky Henderson.. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Littlefield, Terry Bing and Wade Dickson.. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.
