Peggy Sue (Cely) Chauvin was born May 14, 1946 in Palestine, Texas and passed October 29, 2022 in Katy, Texas. She was born to Tom and Hallie Cely and grew up in the Neches community with her three sisters, graduating from Palestine High as the Arc Light Sweetheart in 1964. Peggy married Gary Chauvin on April 20, 1974 and moved to Madisonville, Texas where they shared 16 years of marriage and two daughters until his passing in 1991. She was known for her sweet spirit and many talents (painting, sewing, baking, playing piano and guitar) as well as her love for horses and riding. She spent her final years doting on her five grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Cely Alhaddad (Joe) and Nicole Jackson (Brandon); Grandchildren: Caleb (Abigail), Nya, Sallie, Sarah, and Jaylen; great-grandson, Aiden. Sisters: June Francis, Lisa Stark, and Cynthia Barone; as well as many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Midway Church of Christ (14453 TX-21 Midway, Texas) on Sunday, November 13th at 2:00pm.
