Rebecca Holloway
Rebecca "Becky" Dale Holloway, 61, passed away November 2, 2019 in Kerrville, TX after a lengthy illness. Becky was born in Houston on January 22, 1958, resided in Palestine, TX for many years, Trinidad, CO and eventually back to Texas where her heart belonged. A devoted housewife for nearly 30 years, she homeschooled 3 children, was active in Boy Scouts where both sons earned Eagle Scout rank, and active in her church, where she loved working with children. She trained as a midwife in Palestine, attending/assisting hundreds of births. Becky was creative and crafty, a talented seamstress, making beautiful quilts, clothing and gifts of cross stitch and embroidery. As a passionate "upcycler" she transformed junk and scraps into beautiful treasures and gifts. She was a wonderful cook, loved the holidays and hosted Thanksgiving for years with up to 100 guests. Becky had a strong faith in God, which brought her peace throughout her life and in the transition from her earthly existence. She passed away on the 35th anniversary of the accident that took her oldest son's life and was excited to see him again. She loved others fearlessly, selflessly and without judgement and raised her children to be strong willed, hardworking and open-minded. Her absence from this earth will be felt by many for years to come.
She is preceded in death by her son, Joshua Brade Holloway, brother Gerald Smith Jr., stepfather Vernon Marshburn and special niece Cassandra Longoria. She is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Wendy Holloway (Robert Birdwell), Oak Ridge, TN; Benjamin Holloway (Joleen Franklin), Kerrville, TX and Daniel Holloway (Kristl Poulliot), Ingram, TX; mother Helen Marshburn; sisters Charlotte Winborn (James), Rachael Maresh (Aaron), Nicole Mascorro (Eric), Chris Townsend Davis, brother Neale W. Townsend Jr; grandchildren Gavin Koentop, Trinidad Laurenzi, Divinia Poulliot, Benjamin Birdwell and a grandson due in February; father of her 4 children Steven Holloway, Kerrville, TX; numerous nieces & nephews, cousins, special friends Doc & Teresa Klingemann and many other friends & family whom she loved so much.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 23 at 1:00, New Caney Family Worship Center, 23214 FM 1485, New Caney, TX 77357. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Becky's name to Peterson Hospice in Kerrville or the charity of your choosing. Special thanks to the exceptional staff at Peterson Hospice for the care and love given to Becky over the past 18 months.
