Palestine, Texas - Robert Jack Boykin, age 88, of Palestine, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 26, 1936, to parents Walter J. Boykin and Annie Doris Brooks Boykin.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home officiated by Fr. Jonathon Frels. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery in Palestine. A visitation will be held from 6PM to 8PM on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Robert retired from the US Air force for 20 years of service as a master sergeant and later worked in petroleum production for 12 years. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veteran Chapter 63, as well as the US Air Force Sergeants Association and Palestine Lodge # 31 AF & AM.
Mr. Boykin was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Annie Boykin; and 2 brothers, Johnny Boykin, and Author Boykin. He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Alecia Boykin of Palestine; son Chuck Boykin of Haslett, TX; daughters, Elizabeth Williams and husband Larry of Fairfield, TX, Kim Anderson and husband Rick of Gulf Shores, AL, Patricia Rohde and husband Duane of Lindale, TX, Jermelyn Lansang and husband Ferd of San Antonio, and Lavilla Mondigo of the Philippines; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Charles E. Boykin, Charles Creel, Duane Rohde, Ferd Lansang, Rick Anderson, Kent Alred, Matthew King, Joshua Raymond, Michael Foley, and Larry Williams.
