Rosie Lou "Rose" Tooman Obituary
Services for Rosie Lou "Rose" Tooman, 81, of Palestine will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 10, 2022 with Rev. Danny Rodriguez of the Evangelistic Temple officiating. A visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in the Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Ft. Sill, Okla., under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. Mrs. Tooman died February 25 after a short illness. She was born August 5, 1940 in Stratford, Okla., to James and Dessie Sanders Potter. She was a loving wife and mother, and enjoyed 51 years of marriage before the passing of her beloved husband, J. David Tooman in 2008. In the years that followed, she lived a full life as the grandmother of her four grandchildren and the two additional grandchildren who came to her through the blessings of the marriages of her grandkids. She retired from a successful career as a dietary manager. She was an active member of the Evangelistic Temple and greatly missed the opportunities to see her church family during these years of the COVID pandemic. She lived the last several years of her life at Windermere Assisted Living in Palestine, where she had many friends and was well known for organizing regular opportunities to play bridge, and walking her little dogs. Mrs Tooman was preceded in death by her parents; twin children, Marty Allan and Mona Lynn Tooman and a sister, Bonnie McDade. She is survived by her daughters, Kate Holzhauser and husband Craig of Houston and Audrey Gregg and husband Jay of Ft. Worth; a sister, Jan Plain of Taloga, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren, Jacob Holzhauser and wife Anya of Houston, Rachel Thompson and husband Ian of Houston, Joshua Holzhauser of Seattle, Washington, and John Holzhauser of Stockton, Missouri. She was deeply loved and will be missed, but we celebrate her life and legacy and her joyful transition to her heavenly home.
