Grapeland, Texas - A celebration of life for Sarah Vernell Moreland age 88 of Denson Springs will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 12, 2026 at Denson Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jamie Hogan officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Moreland passed away Monday, January 5, 2026 in Grapeland. She was born August 27, 1937 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Clyde Williams and Lela (Richardson) Williams, and grew up in Elk City, Oklahoma and enjoyed life. Mrs. Moreland earned her Masters Degree in education and taught school for 17 years. She later went to work for AT&T as a logistics director in transportation.
Mrs. Moreland was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Kenny Dykes, sister Loree Luman and brother Vernon Williams. She is survived by her daughter Dana White of Grapeland, brothers Elvin Williams and Allen Williams, six grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
