Palestine, Texas - It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to the matriarch of the Smith family. The Lord blessed us with 66 years and then he took her home. Sherry was one of the most high energy individuals you would ever meet. She loved her children with a fierce commitment that only a mother does. Her hobbies included plants, decorating and just about anything outdoors. She loved to camp, stay up long nights by a bonfire and spend time with her children and Grandchildren. She also loved hummingbirds, picking blackberries and braiding all of her daughters and granddaughters and numerous others hair. Anyone who met her knew that she was a happy and energetic person; her vibe was contagious. She was the "fun" Mom as well as the "hip" grandmother. She was preceded in death by her Father- Aden Bell, Mother- Clara Driskell Bell, brothers Dusty, Jack, Stevie & Roger Bell and sister Patsy Seevers. She was one of nine children. She leaves behind her loving husband of 44 years, Fred Wayne Smith, two daughters Christie Marie Scroggins (husband-Stanley Cobb Jr) and Rachel Leane Bolt and two sons Timothy Eric & Daniel Ray Smith. Her grandchildren were her world, she had an expanded group of them as well. They include Collin Bristow, Clare (wife-Dinesha) Scroggins , Tiffany & Caylee Scroggins, Dalton Smith and Ali & Aadyn Garcia.

Her celebration of life will be held on October 4, 2025 at
